A Green Party city councillor has caused a backlash after asking a disturbing question online: Should someone still receive a donated organ if they vote for the right-wing AfD?

Julia Probst, a councillor from Weißenhorn, posted a poll on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“Imagine you had to decide whether to donate a family member’s organs. You happen to know the recipient votes AfD. Would you still donate?”

More than 3,800 people voted in the poll. About one in four said “no.”

The post triggered angry reactions. Many users accused Probst of suggesting that political views should decide who gets life-saving medical treatment. Even some people who oppose the AfD said they found the question unethical and inappropriate.
