AfD Continues To Surge, Poll Finds

The Alternative für Deutschland party’s support has risen to 25% according to a survey by INSA.

The Alternative für Deutschland party’s support has risen to 25% according to a survey by INSA.

A weekly poll conducted for the Sunday edition of the Bild newspaper showed a one-point rise in support for the AfD, bringing the party’s popularity to 25%. A separate survey by the Forsa institute also placed the nationalist party at the same level, confirming its steady momentum as the AfD continues to compete for the top spot in national polls.

In the latest INSA poll, the standings of other major parties remained unchanged from the previous week. The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), maintained their lead at 27%, while their coalition partner, the Social Democratic Party (SPD), held steady at 15%. 

Trailing behind were the Greens with 11% support, followed closely by the far-left Die Linke party at 10%.
