Authorities in the eastern German state of Thuringia have issued arrest warrants for two migrants following an reported sexual assault in Bad Klosterlausnitz. One suspect is in custody, while police are still actively searching for the second individual.
The investigation began on the night of Tuesday, May 26th after a 22-year-old woman was found outdoors partially undressed. Gera prosecutors are investigating four suspects—three Iraqis and one Syrian—though early indications suggest that two were the primary perpetrators.
Alice Weidel, leader of the national conservative Alternative für Deutschland, posted on X:
Another young woman has been raped, and once again the suspects are migrants: a Syrian is in custody, an Iraqi is on the run. The CDU/CSU opened Pandora’s box in 2015—and Merz is incapable of closing it.
