The London trial date has been set for the cancelled Irish comedy writer turned ‘gender critical’ activist.

Graham Linehan is scheduled to face trial in September at Westminster magistrates’ court, following an initial hearing on Monday May 12th. He denied two charges, one of (social media) harassment and another of damaging a transgender activist’s mobile phone.

Linehan—best known for his work on the sitcoms Father Ted, The IT Crowd and Black Books—became increasingly concerned about the damage transgender ideology and policies were doing to women and children. Or in his words:

For six years, ever since I began defending the rights of women and children against a dangerous ideology, I have faced harassment, abuse and threats.

Whereas others in the comedy scene, he says, have bowed down to trans activism, Linehan has pushed back, often at great personal cost. With a trial date set, it would now be unwise for Europeanconservative.com to comment directly on the two charges. Court documents show Linehan faces charges of harassing the alleged victim “Sophia Brooks” with abusive online comments between October 11th and October 27th 2024, and of damaging Brooks’ phone at the London Battle of Ideas conference on October 19th.

Upon leaving court, Linehan thanked his supporters outside—while clad in a T-shirt emblazoned with the headline “Trans women are not women.”
