Economists now expect Greece’s economy to grow by just 2.2%. The Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) revised down January’s forecasted growth of 2.4%, following the application of tariffs by the U.S. Trump administration.

Last month, the IOBE launched an optimistic appraisal of Athens’ bilateral economic relations with Germany, highlighting the resilience of the German business community in Greece. However, other indications—such as a recent interview with Greek vice president Adonis Georgiadis—show pursuing stronger ties with the United States to be a priority.
