A missile attack orchestrated by the Yemeni fighters aligned to Iran’s ‘Axis of Resistance‘ landed close to Israel’s main airport, Ben Gurion.
While the assault on Sunday, May 4th, grounded flights for one hour, prompting European airlines to cancel flights all day, its main effect has been to focus Israel on dealing militarily with the insurgent Houthi movement. The Israeli PM swore on X that a suitable response would come “at a time and place of our choosing.”
Emergency services at the airport—which is close to Tel Aviv—reported zero fatalities, while treating at least half a dozen injured. Unusually, the missile was able to pierce the state’s air defence systems, according to local reports.
While the European Union has dithered in its response to the Yemen-based insurgents attacking ‘Zionist’ shipping, the Trump administration has responded with force. The Houthis themselves are threatening to impose a no-fly zone on Israel—with virtually no guarantee of success.
