Monday, July 20th saw Yemen’s Houthis movement declare an immediate naval blockade against Saudi Arabia,
The Tehran-aligned Iranian proxy announced
a maritime embargo against the criminal Saudi enemy, based on the equation of “an eye for an eye” effective immediately upon the issuance of this statement.
Such an action would end the truce between the two regional militaries that went into effect in March 2022. Previous exchanges of fire involved the Yemen-based Islamists firing missiles at Saudi Arabia after accusing the Kingdom of bombing a Houthi-controlled airport,
Moving forward, Saudi energy infrastructure and shipping looks set to provide a major target for the self-styled but Tehran-centred ‘Axis of Resistance.’ Indeed, Houthi verbiage describes their blockade as a response to Saudi Arabia’s continued
unjust and oppressive siege on our dear people for nearly 12 years, plundering our resources and imposing a comprehensive blockade on our ports and airports by land, sea, and air.
The announcement follows last week’s vague threats of Houthi military action to choke off a major oil route through the Red Sea.
