Iran’s judiciary announced it would confiscate the assets of members of the Iranian diaspora who “cooperate” with the United States or Israel. The prosecutor general’s office declared that Iranians abroad aligning with what it called the
American-Zionist aggressor enemy
would face full property confiscation and legal penalties under a law passed after last year’s 12-day war with Israel, reported Mizan Online.
On the same day, according to state broadcaster IRIB, Iran launched its first missile attack on Israel under the new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, on March 9th, 2026.
Sirens warned of incoming missiles across northern and central Israel, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. Israeli authorities reported interceptor debris falling in central areas, and the medical service Magen David Adom treated a woman moderately injured by debris. Israeli air defenses successfully intercepted multiple projectiles, and the military stated it was safe to leave protected areas.
Meanwhile, thousands of pro-Iranian protesters marched through London from Westminster to the U.S. embassy in Nine Elms, chanting anti-Israel and anti-U.S. slogans.
The demonstration, organized by groups including the Stop the War Coalition and Palestine Solidarity Campaign, encountered a counter-protest of pro-Israel demonstrators. Protesters carried images of Ayatollah Khamenei and chanted antisemitic slogans, while opposing the U.S.-led operations against Iran.
Similar pro-Tehran marches took place in Manchester—where supporters of the regime on horseback attempted to chase counter-protestors—and in Birmingham on the preceding days.
