Israel’s Defence Minister announces a sweeping surprise attack on Hezbollah command centers—stressing that the new U.S.-Iran truce has no bearing on the Jewish state’s fight in Lebanon.

On Wednesday, April 8th Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz said that Israel had delivered stealth strikes targeting hundreds of Hezbollah militants across Lebanon.

The U.S. and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire on Tuesday in an 11th-hour bid to avert all-out destruction threatened by U.S. President Donald Trump. In contrast, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the truce excludes his country’s fight with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Katz added:

We insisted on differentiating between the arenas of Iran and Lebanon in order to change the reality in Lebanon and remove threats from the residents of the north.
