Israel’s President Isaac Herzog said on Wednesday, February 11th that he hoped the upcoming talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. president Donald Trump would help fight Iran’s “empire of evil.”
Netanyahu, undertaking his sixth U.S. visit since Trump took office, has stated he will urge Washington to take a harder line on arch-foe Iran’s ballistic missile program.
On the eve of the hastily arranged White House meeting, Trump said he was weighing sending a second U.S. “armada” to the Middle East to pressure Tehran into reaching a nuclear deal.
Speaking alongside Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra, Herzog wished them “success in bringing peace and undermining the empire of evil emanating from Tehran.”
