Latest survey shows Le Pen’s circle remains highly popular in France, while Macron’s allies trail behind.

A recent YouGov survey conducted for HuffPost shows Jordan Bardella, protégé of Marine Le Pen, as the most popular politician in France. Bardella, who leads the Rassemblement National party, received 41% approval, narrowly ahead of his mentor Marine Le Pen at 39%.

Le Pen’s niece, Marion Maréchal, ranks third. Despite no longer being a party member, she plans to cooperate with Rassemblement National through her own political movement.

The poll reflects the enduring influence of Le Pen’s circle, even as Marine Le Pen is barred from the 2027 presidential race due to a court ruling over misappropriation of funds. Bardella is expected to stand in her place, with surveys indicating a likely run-off victory.

Predictions for potential duels against Emmanuel Macron’s allies, Edouard Philippe or Gabriel Attal, suggest tight contests. Philippe and Attal received 32% and 30% approval, respectively, and both are considered probable presidential candidates.

On the left, Social Democrat and MEP Raphaël Glucksmann leads with 27% approval, while La France Insoumise leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon only reaches 15%.
