Public anger is intensifying over the level of benefits being provided to asylum seekers in Britain, after new footage and council data revealed a two-tier system favouring migrants over taxpayers.
A viral video filmed at a hotel in West Sussex shows migrants living in comfort, with access to buffet-style breakfasts, four-poster beds, PlayStations, jewellery, and even music lessons.
One room appears to contain evidence of alcohol and drug consumption.

The footage, taken by Aston Knight, who worked as a contractor at the hotel, comes amid rising anger at the use of hotels for migrants.
“While the country goes through a cost of living crisis and people are struggling to pay their mortgages, seeing the absolute luxury was shocking,” said Knight.
According to the Home Office, over 32,000 asylum seekers are currently being housed in 210 hotels, a number that will probably rise as Channel crossings hit a record 24,000 this year—up 50% from 2024.
The government has pledged to end hotel use before the next election, but thousands of migrants reportedly refuse to move to alternative accommodation.
Meanwhile, local councils in London such as Kingston and Richmond are offering steep discounts and free access to gyms, swimming pools, and even language classes for asylum seekers—benefits that working residents must still pay for, even after a 5% hike in council tax.
