The UK Shadow Culture Secretary has called on the government to probe a key London arts administrator who compared Reform UK voters to Nazis.

Britain’s embattled Labour government is now facing pressure to investigate Misan Harriman—chairman of London’s Southbank Centre—following allegations of antisemitism and inappropriate political behaviour.

Shadow Culture Secretary Nigel Huddleston has urged Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy to review Harriman’s suitability for the role and requested that Arts Council England—which provided the venue with £18 million (€21 million) last year—reassess its funding arrangements.

The controversy stems from Harriman’s social media activity. He is accused of sharing a post suggesting a media conspiracy regarding the Golders Green attacks and allegedly comparing Reform UK voters to Nazi supporters—a claim the Oscar-nominated photographer denies. He was called a “crass moron” by Reform UK treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick.

Additionally, the Charity Commission is assessing concerns that Harriman breached regulations by endorsing Green Party politicians on local election day.
