Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is injured but “safe and sound,” according to the son of the president on Wednesday, March 11th.

The statement marks the first official explanation for why the 56-year-old has not been seen since his appointment at the weekend. While reportedly wounded in the airstrike that killed his father, he is said to be alert and recovering in a secure location.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Khamenei junior’s condition, Iran and its proxy the Hezbollah terrorist organization launched a coordinated strike strategy on Tuesday, March 10th. A national security expert made this claim amid reports that deadly cluster munitions were hitting Israel in synchronized attacks.

The developments unfolded on day 11 of Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion—the joint U.S.-Israeli campaign targeting Iran—marking a potential escalation in the widening regional conflict.

According to senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies and the Misgav Institute Kobi Michael:

Hezbollah has fully joined the war, and it looks like they are now very well coordinated with Iran.
