Prime Minister Péter Magyar’s new administration is reshaping Hungary’s migration and LGBT policies in line with European Union expectations, marking a sharp break from the previous course pursued by Viktor Orbán.
Justice Minister Márta Görög indicated that the government will amend the child protection law after the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that it conflicts with EU law.
It was also reported that Foreign Minister Anita Orbán (no relation) announced that asylum seekers will once again be allowed to submit their applications at the Hungarian border, in response to the European Court’s €1 million-per-day fine imposed on Hungary.
