The total number of migrants illegally crossing the English Channel by small boat hit 15,000 for this year to date, new figures show.
Wednesday, June 11th, saw approximately 120 individuals brought ashore in the early morning, with more predicted to follow. These arrivals are the first since a record 1,195 migrants in 19 small boats made ‘successful’ crossings on a single day, June 3rd. This followed another record total for 2025, making the last day of spring awkward for Keir Starmer’s Labour Party.
Hundreds more are expected to attempt the journey today, with warm weather and calm seas on their side―mirroring the government’s excuse for its failure to ‘smash the gangs.’
