In a recent interview with Polish television channel wPolsce24, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán praised Polish–Hungarian friendship and highlighted the support Hungary received from the former Kaczyński–led government during disputes with Brussels. “We Hungarians are loyal to our friends, especially those who stood with us in many battles, including in Brussels,” Orbán said.
Viktor Orbán has also criticized the current political situation in Poland, calling recent developments “completely unacceptable, contrary to law, morality, and democracy.” “It is shameful that the authorities of the European Union, which govern our community, are not only silent, but even support the Polish PM’s policy. From the perspective of European values, this is completely unacceptable,” he added.
“I think Tusk hates me. He hates those who don’t want to commit a crime with him,” Viktor Orbán said. The Hungarian PM suggested Tusk has betrayed his earlier patriotic convictions.
Regarding the 2025 presidential elections in Poland, Orbán said that conservative candidate Nawrocki’s victory opens an opportunity to renew Central European cooperation.
