Authorities are looking into how the student was granted an entry visa.

A Palestinian student living in France is under investigation for allegedly posting antisemitic content online, which has led to the termination of her university enrollment and a formal order to leave the country, French authorities confirmed on Thursday, July 31st.

The young woman, a student at the presitigious Sciences Po university in Lille, lost her accreditation on Wednesday. The university stated she had been admitted “at the recommendation of the French consulate in Jerusalem” and arrived in France on July 11th with a scholarship.

On Thursday, Lille’s chief prosecutor, Carole Etienne, announced that an investigation had been launched into the student’s online activity. She is suspected of having tried to “justify terrorism” and “justify a crime against humanity.”

The posts, reportedly made in September, allegedly featured an image of Adolf Hitler and text that called for the death of all Jews. The account in question has since been taken offline.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau had previously demanded her removal, stating that “Hamas propagandists” should not be present in France.
