Was a Polish home damaged by Russian drone debris?

Polish authorities are investigating what kind of projectile damaged a house last week—during an intrusion into Polish airspace by around 20 drones.

Initial reports suggested debris from a Russian drone shot down by air defense but Polish media now point to an AIM-120 AMRAAM missile fired by a Polish F-16.

According to Anna Adamiak, spokeswoman for the national prosecutor’s office

The investigation is in its preliminary stage and we must wait for expert opinion to determine what type of weaponry damaged this house.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk insisted that regardless of what hit the house, responsibility lies with Moscow for provoking the incident. For Polish general Leon Komornicki, it also signals a problem for Poland:

The Russian drone incident exposed our weakness …. The longer this war lasts, the greater the risk it poses to the countries on NATO’s eastern flank.

As the threat from Moscow intensifies, polling shows that a huge majority of Poles continue to trust in the country’s armed forces.
