A photocopied poster bearing the image of Yaron Lischinsky, the German-Israeli man murdered in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, appeared at Humboldt University in Berlin this week. The image was accompanied by the words “Make Zionists Afraid,” along with symbols of support for Hamas.

The poster appeared just days after the violent attack near the Jewish Museum in the U.S. capital, in which 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago fatally shot Lischinsky and his partner, 28-year-old Sarah Milgrim, both employees at the Israeli embassy.
The display at Humboldt University has sparked outrage, with critics calling it a celebration of terrorism and an incitement to hatred. Authorities have not yet confirmed who was responsible for posting the image or whether any disciplinary action will be taken. But the widespread promotion of antisemitism is a growing concern in Germany, as well as globally.
