A protest held in central London on Saturday, February 28th saw participants voice support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, triggering security concerns.
Opposition to the intervention also comes from senior Green figures, with the party leader claiming Western military action against Tehran could be illegal under international law.
According to videos and reports circulating on social media, demonstrators in the British capital carried Iranian flags and symbols associated with the regime and chanted slogans in support of Tehran’s leadership.
Reports also indicated that Green Party deputy leader Mothin Ali attended the demonstration in support of the Iranian Islamic regime—a government hostile to Western countries, which British authorities have linked to multiple alleged terror plots on UK soil.
On Sunday, March 1st Green Party leader Zack Polanski argued that U.S./Israeli military strikes against Iran did not comply with international law. Green leaders—whose Muslim-oriented campaigning in the recent Gorton and Denton parliamentary by-election was branded an exercise in “sectarian voting and cheating—appear to be apologising for an authoritarian regime accused of widespread repression.
