The X account of Rassemblement National has been hacked.

The X account of Rassemblement National (RN), Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella’s political party, has been hacked.

As a result, comments critical of the RN appeared on its own account throughout  Thursday, July 23rd, before the account was suspended and its profile (header) altered.

It is not yet clear who is behind the attack, but some— such as Jon de Lorraine, a French right-wing social media influencer—believe it was carried out by protesters against the RN’s stance on social media bans.

The RN  notably abstained from a vote in the French parliament in July 2026 to approve a ban on social media for children under 15. Analysts speculate that the decision was driven by skepticism about government overreach.

It is also interesting to note that while the majority of RN lawmakers abstained from backing the final text in the National Assembly, a small faction voted against the bill, arguing that the state should not take the place of parents.

Party leaders have expressed deep distrust of the executive branch in the areas of digital freedoms and expression, and have warned against official willingness to introduce broad social bans.

RN figures emphasize that monitoring and regulating minors’ screen time and access is fundamentally the role of parents, not a blanket ban enforced by the state.
