One of Ukraine’s UAVs struck Afipsipskoe in the North Caucasus’ Republic of Adygea, depriving parts of the town of Enem of electricity and gas supplies. The strike, on the morning of Thursday, June 11th hit several private houses in the Takhtamukai district and separately damaged power lines.
While Enem—located around 300km north-west of the capital Maykop—lost power, gas supplies were disrupted after drone debris damaged a pipeline in Afipsip, near the Shapsug Reservoir.
The Republic’s regional leader Murat Kumpilov reported no fatalities and promised to initiate repair work. He was responding to the effects of a large-scale 330-drone attack from Ukraine on several regions of the country, also noted by Russia’s Defence Ministry.
While the Republic of Adygea is not a priority target for Ukraine, its close proximity to the oil-producing Krasnodar region means it suffers from inbound projectiles and UAVs. In recent weeks, Ukraine has switched its tactics to include more long-range attacks deep into Russia territory.
