Russian-occupied Crimea has lost power in its largest city, Sevastopol, according to the Moscow-installed governor.
The cause of the blackout was an overnight Ukrainian air attack on the city’s main power substation overnight on Tuesday, June 23rd.
Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev declared on Telegram:
We will not be intimidated by the lack of light. We have gone through more than that, and we will survive now
The problems caused by the loss of lighting at night were matched by those in the day, where citizens now face heat wave conditions without functional air conditioning.
Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, noted how drones had targeted 48 operational and planned military sites, including the main power substation of Sevastopol.
Kyiv’s latest military initiative reflects a shift towards finding long-range targets deep inside Russian– and Russian-held territory.
