A tram derailment in the city centre claimed at least one life and injured several.

On Saturday, February 28th, a tram derailed in the centre of the northern Italian city of Milan, crashing into a building. Several passengers and pedestrians were hurt, with at least one fatality reported. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

During the morning rush hour, the tram collided with the building’s facade in Milan, scattering debris onto the street and temporarily blocking traffic. Emergency services, including police and fire crews, cordoned off the area and secured both the tram and the structure. No further details about the victims or the cause of the accident have been released at this time.

Eyewitnesses said the derailment occurred at a busy intersection, causing panic among commuters. The local transport authority has suspended service on the affected line while the site is cleared and safety inspections are conducted.
