A long-standing journal of the British Left has a new owner, the magazine announced on Monday, June 2nd. Moving forward, Tribune “will continue under the stewardship of Mohamed Ali Harrath, Chairman of E Media Group (parent company of Islam Channel).”
Tunisian Islamic Front founder Ali Harrath—who was exiled from Tunisia in 1992—said
A new future for Tribune should excite anyone who wants real change, and a better and brighter future for all.
Given the increasing overlap—putting it mildly—between left-wingers and political Islam, crystalised by the Hamas October 7th pogrom, this should not come as a surprise. However, for some observers there remains a mismatch between the traditions of the publication, established in 1937, and its new owner.
