"Hungary will continue to have the lowest energy prices in Europe," PM Viktor Orbán said.

Both the Turk Stream gas pipeline and the Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline transporting crude oil from Russia to Hungary have received a full exemption from U.S. sanctions, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday evening.

This means, he said, that “Hungary will continue to have the lowest energy prices in Europe.”

Foreign minister Péter Szijjártó called the agreement a “major outcome” and said the delegation was “grateful for this decision, which guarantees Hungary’s energy security.”
