U.S. President Donald Trump voiced frustration on Thursday, April 24th, over deadly Russian missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv as he pushes both sides to agree to a ceasefire.

“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV,” Trump said on social media in a rebuke directed at Russian leader Vladimir Putin. “Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!”

A Russian missile attack on Kyiv on Thursday killed at least nine and wounded dozens in one of the deadliest strikes on the Ukrainian capital since Moscow launched its invasion in 2022.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday that Putin needed to “stop lying” about wanting peace in Ukraine while continuing to strike the country.
