U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday, December 2nd, to discuss the Trump administration’s proposal for ending the war in Ukraine

Washington says it is “optimistic” after recent talks with Ukraine’s delegation in Florida, though the details of the revised plan remain unclear.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky sought reassurances from European leaders, many of whom fear the proposal may favor Moscow.

European officials have expressed concern that Ukraine could face pressure to accept concessions, while French president Emmanuel Macron insisted no territorial arrangement can be finalized without Zelensky’s approval.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes continue across the country. Fighting around Pokrovsk and attacks on Dnipro underscore that the conflict, now more than three years old, shows little sign of easing.

As U.S. and Russian officials prepare to meet, it remains uncertain whether the emerging plan will be acceptable to Kyiv.
