The Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) is turning to Ukraine for direct tactical insights. A formal agreement between the German and Ukrainian defense ministries was signed on Friday, February 13th. Under the new pact, experienced Ukrainian soldiers will be deployed to the Federal Republic to serve as instructors.
According to a spokesperson:
The objective is to integrate the firsthand combat experience of Ukrainian personnel into our military instruction, specifically within the army’s specialized training schools.
A Bundeswehr representative revealed to the German Press Agency that this is Berlin’s response to the enormous changes that have taken place on the Ukrainian battlefield. They argue that Russia’s war of aggression has significantly changed the nature of warfare, and that Ukrainian soldiers have extensive experience in using drones and defending against them.
