U.S. forces have captured a large oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, President Donald Trump said, describing the tanker as the biggest ever seized.
The ship was carrying crude oil from Venezuela and Iran, banned under U.S. sanctions, Attorney General Pam Bondi said.
Venezuela condemned the action, calling it “international piracy,” with President Nicolás Maduro saying the country would not become an “oil colony.”
The seizure caused oil prices to rise slightly and could disrupt Venezuela’s oil exports.
