U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrived in Switzerland early on Sunday for talks on implementing a deal to end the Middle East war.
Vance landed at Emmen Air Base just before 6 a.m.CET, according to his spokesperson.
A diplomat briefed on the talks told CNN on Sunday an emergency session on Lebanon has been added to the talks in Switzerland.
Before departing, the Vice President said one priority was to make progress on a ceasefire in Lebanon, after hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah resumed following a ceasefire two days ago.
Ending the conflict in Lebanon is “the most important item on the Iranian delegation’s agenda,” an Iranian official told CNN.
The Iranian delegation landed in Switzerland late on Saturday, ahead of talks at the Bürgenstock resort, Bern said yesterday.
The Swiss foreign ministry said on X on Sunday the talks were part of the implementation of the MoU Iran signed with the United States.
We welcome the arrival of the United States delegation in #Switzerland.
