Kyiv said Moscow’s strikes “cannot be normalised,” calling them war crimes.

Russia launched a wave of drone and missile attacks across Ukraine on the night of Wednesday, April 15th killing at least 15 people and injuring at least 90, according to Ukrainian officials.

A 12-year-old boy was among four people killed in the capital Kyiv, where rescuers worked through the night after repeated strikes. In Dnipro, regional officials reported three were killed and dozens more injured. In Odesa, eight were reported killed in attacks on the southern port city. Further injuries were reported in Kharkiv, where local authorities said a 77-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man were among those hurt.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said rescuers pulled a mother and child from the ruins of a 16-storey residential building that collapsed in the city’s Podilsky district. Emergency medical workers were also among those injured during continued shelling in the capital.

Ukrainian foreign minister Andrii Sybiha declared:

Such attacks cannot be normalised. These are war crimes that must be stopped and their perpetrators held to account.

The strikes followed a short Easter ceasefire period, during which both sides accused each other of violations. Meanwhile, tensions increased further after Russia’s Ministry of Defence published a list of industrial sites in Europe it claims are involved in producing drones and components for Ukraine. The list includes facilities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Latvia, Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain, Israel and Turkey, and identifies several sites as “branches of Ukrainian companies in Europe” as well as foreign enterprises allegedly supplying Ukraine’s military. Moscow has indicated these locations could be considered potential military targets.
