Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that his country faces a deficit of the missiles it uses to fight Russia, as stocks are diverted to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
In an interview with the BBC, the Ukrainian president asserted that Vladimir Putin wants a “long war” involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran, as it would weaken Kyiv by forcing U.S. resources to be directed elsewhere.
For Putin, a long war in the Middle East is a plus. In addition to rising energy prices, it means the depletion of U.S. reserves and the depletion of air defense manufacturers. Consequently, we [Ukraine] face a depletion of resources.
Zelensky also claimed that U.S. president Donald Trump was not on “any side” in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but simply “wanted to finish the war.”
