Islamist infiltration is being “grossly understated” by official reports.

Five municipalities are reportedly “under the control” of the Muslim Brotherhood in Brussels, where an official this week stressed “we must remain extremely vigilant” about Islamist infiltration.

About a fortnight after the French government broke its silence on ongoing efforts to impose an ‘Islamic identity’ through demographic growth and the pressure of Islamised social norms, Brussels court official Paul Dhaeyer said the Muslim Brotherhood is also “very active in Brussels.”

Dhaeyer warned that “this Islamisation can lead to radicalisation, and that can ultimately lead to terrorist acts,” stressing the need for the intelligence services to crack down on rising Islamism.

Responding to reports that a handful of Brussels municipalities are controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood, Darya Safai MP said this was “something I’ve seen for years.” Writer Maaroufi Fadila also suggested the group’s influence was being “grossly understated” by official reports.

Out of 19 Brussels municipalities, 10 are today marked by the presence of elected officials or mayors of the Brotherhood and their accomplices. This is reality.

Elsewhere, Safai said the Brotherhood was working to “Islamise society” in Belgium, describing its goal as promoting Sharia law “in order to eventually implement it.”

Swedish officials also announced at the end of last month that they are launching their own investigation into Islamist infiltration, which Sweden Democrats MEP Charlie Weimers said he hoped would be the “first step toward the zero-tolerance policy against the Muslim Brotherhood that I have fought for over the years.”
