Scholz met with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an attempt to establish better relations between the two nations that have been increasingly at odds over issues ranging from energy policy to rule of law.
“The Polish-Belarusian border separates two worlds—dictatorship from democracy, and a normal state which cares for its citizens from a regime which uses the citizens of other countries as human shields,” said PM Morawiecki.
Morawiecki also said that the primacy of EU law was “not unlimited”.
