Azeri’s leading diplomat in Brussels stirred the pot by tweeting an image of a sniper rifle at MEPs visiting the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The report signals that not only is the EU wanted in the South Caucasus, but the EU wants to be there as well.
Negotiations in this region are at an impasse, with the Armenian enclave requesting humanitarian assistance and Azerbaijan demanding Armenian integration.
Facing a humanitarian crisis and an intransigent Azerbaijani regime, calls are mounting for a stronger EU intervention.
This is not the first time that the Lachin corridor has been blocked by the Azeris. But never before has this vital artery been cut off for so long.
