Following their arrests over the weekend, two Algerian nationals, one of whom is said to have bragged about having organs for sale, have been indicted, placed in pre-trial detention over the appallingly inhuman kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of a 12-year-old Parisian girl.
The primary suspect, a 24-year-old Algerian woman who goes by the name Dahbia B., was indicted on counts of murder of a minor accompanied by rape with torture and acts of barbarism on Monday in the French capital, days after the body of a 12-year-old schoolgirl named Lola was discovered stuffed in a plastic crate in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, Le Figaro reports.
The second suspect, a 43-year-old Algerian man suspected of hosting Dahbia B. and driving a vehicle in which she had a suitcase that contained Lola’s body, was indicted on one count of concealment of a corpse.
While in police custody, the 24-year-old suspect recounted Lola’s last moments, telling authorities that on Friday afternoon she had lured the young girl, who had been on her way home from school, back to her sister’s apartment which is situated in the same building as Lola’s parents. The suspect then told police she took Lola to the shower, where she raped and murdered her before she hid the girl’s body in a plastic crate.
Investigators say that an autopsy, carried out on Saturday, revealed that Lola died from asphyxiation and suffered blows after her death. Pathologists, following a post-mortem examination, found wounds on the 12-year-old victim’s throat, shoulder, and back, as well as blunt force traumas on her face and back. According to a report from Le Monde, Lola’s body—which was curled up, bound, and stuffed in a container—was also covered with inscriptions.
Dahbia B. had originally come to France legally in 2016 by way of a student residence permit, which expired some time ago. On August 21st, she had been attempting to board a flight when French border police discovered she did not have a valid residence permit. Following her detainment, police subsequently issued her an order to leave the territory within 30 days—an order she chose to ignore. Thus, at the time of the murder, the suspect was technically an illegal immigrant.
And while the barbaric act of inhumanity itself has understandably left the French public reeling, French President Emmanuel Macron’s silence in the wake of Lola’s murder has left many Frenchmen and women fuming. On Monday, several hours after the indictment of the two Algerian suspects had been announced, Macron shocked French citizens when, instead of commenting on the case and sending condolences to Lola’s parents, he took to Twitter to remember the 61st anniversary of a police crackdown which saw some three dozen Algerian protestors killed at the hands of security forces in Paris.
Responding to Macron’s tweet, Reconquête politician Jerome Riviere wrote: “Is that all you can think of today? Really?”
Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry, a writer and fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, also responded to Macron’s tweet, saying: “Beyond the indecency of this [statement] in the current context, it is false. It was a forbidden demonstration, organized by the FLN, in 1961 a terrorist organization at war with France. Its repression was not only fair, it was the minimum.”
Top figures on France’s national Right, however, were anything but silent, with some reminding the public that Lola’s life would never have been taken if France’s liberal-globalist politicians had not refused to enact reasonable migration policies.
“Of Algerian nationality and illegal, it’s official: The assassin of Lola should never have crossed her path. Once again.” Éric Zemmour, the leader of the Reconquête party, tweeted.
“Another clandestine assassin. It’s going crazy. As long as they continue to think that mass immigration is an opportunity for France, the tragedies will multiply,” wrote Marion Maréchal.
“The revelations about the profile of the woman suspected of the massacre of little Lola, who we learn is in an irregular situation, are a textbook case on the uncontrolled nature of illegal immigration in our country. The debate must be opened… finally,” Marine Le Pen, the leader of Rassemblement National wrote on Twitter.
