Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists, or ‘TERFs,’ as they are more commonly referred to by the transgender activists who loathe them, have been at the forefront of threats of violence for several years for their controversial belief that men cannot become women.
Over the weekend, a rally was held in London, England that saw yet more threats of violence toward women when a transgender activist, who has previously served 30 years in prison for attempted murder and kidnapping, called for violence against TERFs and was defended by the organisers of the event after the remarks were made, the Telegraph reports.
Sarah Jane Baker was a speaker at the Trans+ Pride event in London and while waving an Antifa flag, told the crowd that had gathered, “I was gonna come here and be really fluffy and be really nice and say yeah be really lovely and queer and gay … Nah, if you see a TERF, punch them in the [expletive] face.”
Born Alan Baker, the trans activist was initially convicted of kidnapping and torturing the brother of his stepmother and was later convicted of attempted murder, trying to kill another inmate and strangle the man, an alleged child rapist, to death.
During his sentence, Baker decided to transition to becoming a woman and cut off his testicles, taking the name Sarah Jane Baker and also stated involvement in prostitution and drug dealing while in prison.
Just prior to his release in 2019, Baker was given a sex change operation to the tune of over £10,000 and was given oestrogen hormones, all at the expense of the UK taxpayer. Baker has also campaigned for transgender prisoners to be put in prisons that align with their chosen gender.
London’s Metropolitan Police, the Met, announced Monday, July 10th, that they would be investigating the calls to violence from Baker, re-opening the case after initial complaints were made but dismissed.
The move to reopen the investigation was praised by UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who stated on Twitter, “I’m glad the police have decided to investigate this incident at a Trans Pride Event, having initially closed it with no further action. I’m sure the police will consider the evidence carefully.”
While Baker’s call to violence was condemned by many, the organisers of the event defended Baker’s words saying, “Sarah and many others in our community hold a lot of rage and anger and they have the right to express that anger through their words.”
The group did caveat their statement by adding, “We do not condone violence, we do not back a call to arms for violence of any kind. We do condone righteous anger and the right to the free speech that was expressed yesterday. We have and will continue to march in peace.”
London’s left-wing mayor Sadiq Khan expressed his support for the Trans pride event saying “I will always be on your side” but when approached for a comment regarding what Baker had said, his office told the Telegraph, “The mayor is a proud LGBTQI+ ally and has been clear in his support for the trans community. He is also clear that violence is never acceptable.”
The call to violence comes just under a month after a group known as “Radical Pride” in France held an event in Strasbourg, calling on participants to chant various slogans, including ones that actively called for killing TERFs.
The group holds similar beliefs to Baker, who was waving a flag of the far-left extremist violent group Antifa while calling for violence and appears to have links to Antifa groups in France who advertised their support for the Strasbourg event.
In April of 2021, a group of French lesbians and feminists penned a letter complaining of sexual abuse and harassment from transgender activists who accused them of transphobia for not being attracted to their “female” penises.
The authors of the letter also noted that women had been attacked by transgender activists at demonstrators, some of whom were also “carrying queer and Antifa flags.”
Sarah Jane Baker was not the only transgender person to make headlines in Europe over the weekend, as 22-year-old Rikkie Kolle became the first transgender person to win the Miss Netherlands beauty contest.
Kolle had previously taken part in “Holland’s Next Top Model” and reached the final in 2018 but did not win the competition.
The result was met with criticism by many, including Dutch political commentator Eva Vlaadingerbroek who stated, “A man just won ‘Miss Netherlands’ 2023. Considering the fact that we live in a post-truth world, I wasn’t even expecting anything else. It’s all so predictable and unoriginal at this point.”
