Last year large Jewish communities across different nations all experienced a rising tide of antisemitism, from verbal altercations to murder.

Recorded antisemitic incidents rose last year, most sharply in the UK, in the seven countries outside Israel with major Jewish populations, says a newly published report.

The J7 Large Communities’ Task Force Against Antisemitism identified 2025 as the most deadly year for Jews outside Israel in more than three decades.antisemitism in Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the U.S.—which comprise the J7—all witnessed record numbers of incidents, with Great Britain proportionately the most dangerous place.

Notably, violence and other threats have become more frequent since the Hamas-led pogrom of October 7, 2023. Reported antisemitic incidents across J7 countries have risen by 136% since 2022, with violent incidents rising by 97%. Argentina, Germany, and the UK also saw year-on-year rises, with 2025 (20 killed in antisemitic attacks worldwide, excluding in Israel) worse than 2024.

Questioned by the BBC, Angela Rayner, UK secretary of state for housing, communities and local government, said she was “appalled”:

Across government, we’re also working with international partners, including the J7, to strengthen the global fight against antisemitism and stand up for Jewish communities wherever they face discrimination, abuse or violence.

Among the examples cited by the Task Force was last year’s fatal knife attack on Heaton Park synagogue, Greater Manchester.
