The Edinburgh-based Court of Session has ruled that all Scottish schools must provide single-sex toilets for pupils. A local authority at the centre of the case, Scottish Borders Council, conceded on Wednesday, April 25th, that it had a legal obligation to provide male and female facilities.

The case was sparked by parental dismay at the lack of single-sex toilet provision at Earlston Primary School’s newly built campus. It’s been reported that this architectural decision arose from training by the LGBT Youth Scotland charity, two of whose former executives have convictions for child sexual abuse-related offences.

The legal decision was possible, in part, thanks to last week’s Supreme Court decision which ruled that ‘women are women,’ in favour of For Women Scotland and against the Scottish government. Failure to provide single sex toilets is also illegal under educational legislation dating back to 1967.

Lady Ross KC, who presided over the judicial review, will now compel all schools in Scotland to provide single-sex toilet provision for pupils, in defiance of official gender ideology.
