The largest phase to date of an operation dubbed “Crimean Switch Off” took place at dawn on Monday, August 3rd. The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a dozen Russian energy facilities on the Crimean Peninsula and in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region.
Reports suggest both that electrical stations and gas distributors were hit. The attack was directed by the commander of the Ukrainian army’s drone units, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, who is of Hungarian descent and is banned from Hungary.
According to Brovdi, a total of 187 energy targets were attacked in the occupied territories during the operation, which lasted from July 1st to August 3rd.
Ukrinform also reported that drones were used to attack a Russian fuel convoy in Primorsk, in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.
