Oman’s foreign minister Badr Albusaidi confirmed on Thursday, June 12th on X that it will host a sixth round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran over the weekend.
Tehran and Washington have held five rounds of talks since April on a new nuclear deal to replace the 2015 accord that the United States exited in 2018.
The announcement came just hours after President Donald Trump said U.S. personnel were being moved from the potentially “dangerous” Middle East. Trump also reiterated that he would not allow Iran to have an atomic bomb amid mounting speculation that Israel could strike Iranian nuclear facilities.
On Wednesday, Iran threatened to target U.S. military bases in the region if conflict breaks out, while the U.S. president said in an interview that he was now “less confident” about reaching a deal.
