Quentin, a 23-year-old right-wing activist, suffered a critical brain hemorrhage after being brutally assaulted for protecting a conservative women’s demonstration (UPDATED BELOW).

A young nationalist activist suffered severe head injuries and was placed in an induced coma after being assaulted by ‘antifascists’ in Lyon Friday. The leftist militants attacked 23-year-old Quentin after a peaceful demonstration organized by the right-wing feminist organization Collectif Némésis during a conference hosted by Rima Hassan, an MEP for far-left La France Insoumise, at Sciences Po in Lyon.

The tension began when several female activists from Némésis unfurled a banner criticizing “Islamo-leftists” at the university. The collective’s director, Alice Cordier, described how the women were physically confronted by ‘antifascist’ groups. Quentin, who was providing security for the female activists, was ambushed and severely beaten by far-left militants. He suffered a critical brain hemorrhage and was placed in a coma at the hospital.

Collectif Némésis posted a statement about the incident on X. They said fifteen activists—including Quentin—were present to protect the women when they were assaulted. “These men were unable to assist them [the women] because, at the same time, they were chased by a group of about thirty anti-fascists,” the organization said. The statement noted that Quentin was attacked with “extreme violence” and was left dying on the street.

“Quentin was swept to the ground, his head struck the pavement, and he was then lynched with kicks. His attackers were hooded and armed with reinforced gloves and pepper spray, leaving little doubt as to the premeditated nature of their attack,” the statement said. This was also confirmed by Le Figaro journalist Paul Sugy, who shared the details of the incident on X.

The international conservative community has responded with profound shock and condemnation. Right-wing activist and political commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek called on Emmanuel Macron to take action, while asking the question, “How many young French people have to be killed like dogs before you declare Antifa a terrorist organization?”

MCC Brussels said, “Europe needs urgent action against the violent criminals of Antifa” when a young man loses his life defending women’s right to freedom of expression and protest.

Members of the European Parliament also voiced their anger over the incident. MEP Marion Maréchal said on X that La France Insoumise (LFI) “has blood on its hands,” stating that it is well-known that the party has links to antifascist organizations created to fuel hatred and chaos. She declared,

judicial impunity and media complacency towards the radical left have led to this tragedy.

Former Director of Frontex and current MEP Fabrice Leggeri also stated that the Antifa movement must be classified as a terrorist organization. “We have already demanded it. We cannot tolerate violence flourishing under the guise of ideology!” Leggeri exclaimed.

UPDATE: Quentin his since died in hospital from his injuries.
