Days after delivering a far-reaching, deeply sobering speech in Transylvania—a speech which not only rallied his many supporters across the world but also drew the full ire of the globalist-controlled press—Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Thursday addressed CPAC Texas in Dallas, where he, to near-constant roaring applause, excoriated his liberal-internationalist detractors and laid out his formula for total victory against those who seek to destroy the Christian West.
The Hungarian prime minister’s rousing reception—the kind of reception which in the past has been reserved only for the likes of former president Donald Trump—came as no surprise to the politically astute who recognize and understand the raw power of ideas that venerate national sovereignty, the family, freedom, true cultural diversity, religious conviction, Christian values, and the willingness to engage in political struggle with all of one’s being.
Orbán, to begin his 35-minute speech—which came despite a deluge of calls from the globalist establishment to have him disinvited from the influential conservative conference—underscored that freedom, sovereignty, and independence are things Hungary has fought for over the past 500 years.
“We fought for Christianity in the Middle and Modern Ages—and we fought for Christian Democracy in the twentieth century and continue to fight to this day,” Orbán began.
As for myself, you should know that I am an old-fashioned freedom fighter. I am also the longest serving prime minister in Europe, the only anti-migration political leader on our continent, a father of five, a grandfather to five grandchildren, and the leader of a country that’s under the siege of progressive liberals day by day.
Then, exhibiting his keen sense of humor, Orbán turned his attention to his eternal foes—those in the globalist-controlled press who’ve ceaselessly sought to assassinate his character by way of uninterrupted defamation and slander.
“I can already see tomorrow’s headline: far-right, European racist, antisemite strongman, and Trojan horse of Putin holds speech at a conservative conference,” Orbán said as the crowd erupted with laughter. “But I don’t want to give them any ideas since they know best how to write fake news.”
Instead, I will tell you the truth. In Hungary, we introduced the zero-tolerance policy on racism and antisemitism. So, accusing us is fake news, and those who make those claims are simply idiots. They are the industrial fake news corporation!
Next, Prime Minister Orbán railed against the ideological pressure that Democratic administrations have exerted—and continue to exert—on their so-called ‘allies’ on the European continent, noting that the Obama administration had “tried to force Hungary to change the fundamental law of Hungary, and delete Christian and national values from it.”
“Do you get it? The leading power of the ‘free world’ wanted to force us to change our constitution according to the globalist liberal concept. How bizarre,” Orbán continued, adding that when the Hungarian government resisted such demands, they became a target for the U.S. Democrats.
They did not want me to be here and they made every effort to drive a wedge between us. They hate me and slander me and my country as they hate you and slander you and the America you stand for. We all know how this works. Progressive liberals didn’t want me to be here because they knew what I would tell you.
“I am here to tell you we should unite our forces,” the prime minister said to booming applause. “Because we Hungarians know how to defeat the enemies of freedom on the political battlefield.”
We Hungarians defeated communism which was forced on us by Soviet troops and arms. It took awhile. We began are fight in 1956 and won in 1990. Communists are tough to beat. They rose from the ashes, came together with the liberals, and came back all around the world stronger than ever. If somebody has doubts whether progressive liberals and communists are the same, just ask us Hungarians. We fought them both and I can tell you they are the same.
“And we must defeat them once more,” Orbán declared, adding that Hungary’s conservative government, which has been in power since 2010, has come up with winning formula.
A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. You have to stand by your country in good times and in bad times. Dear friends, I am here to tell you we should share our experiences. I am here to tell you that fighting for the nation, Christian values and the family can be successful on the political battlefield.
Orbán then offered a bit of advice to Americans who now find themselves living under liberal cultural hegemony, suggesting that perhaps Hungary’s story can help to bring the United States back from the edge of the abyss, which presently threatens to engulf it.
The key to our success story is that when we fight we give at least 100%. We tell the truth and represent the truth even if half the world attacks us for it. You cannot win halfheartedly. You either give everything you got or play it safe and lose. First and foremost, we must trust our Judeo-Christian. They help us decide what actions are right and what actions are wrong. If you believe in God, then you believe that we humans were created in God’s image. Therefore, we have to be brave enough to address even the most sensitive questions: migration, gender, and the clash of civilization.
Bearing this in mind, Orbán argued that conservative Christians should “never hesitate to challenge their opponents on these issues,” adding that Christian values protect conservatives from “going too far”—a kind of insurance that is not shared by the atheistic liberal-left. The Hungarian leader then slammed today’s progressives for endeavoring to separate “western civilization from its Christian roots.”
They are crossing a line that should never be crossed. If you separate Western Civilization from its Judeo-Christian heritage, the worst things in history happen. Let’s be honest, the evilest things in history were carried out by people who hated Christianity.
Next, Orbán directed his attention to arch-globalist George Soros along with his vast wealth, which he deploys to “fund NGOs, universities, research institutions, and half of the bureaucracy in Brussels” in order to force his will upon his political opponents. According to Orbán, Soros believes the values dear to Christian conservatives led to the horrors of the 20th century.
But the case is exactly the opposite. Our values save us from repeating history’s mistakes. The horrors of Nazism and communists happened because some western states in continental Europe abandoned their Christian values, and today’s progressives are planning to the same. They want to give up on Western values and create a new world—a post-Western world. Who is going to stop them if we don’t?
Subsequently, the Hungarian prime minister proclaimed that “in order to win, it is not enough to know what you are fighting for, you also have to know how you should fight.”
My answer is to play by your own rules. But how do you do that? It is as simple as it sounds. You must play to win. You cannot expect victory and plan for defeat. You have to believe that you are better than your left-liberal opponents are—and don’t care what the liberals say…We cannot fight successfully by liberal means because our opponents use liberal institutions, concepts, and language to disguise their Marxist and hegemonic plans. Politics are not enough. This war is a culture war.
As a part of this culture war—and for the Right to be victorious—Orbán urged the Christian West to revitalize its churches, its families, its universities, and its community institutions. And finally, Orbán—after likening the Hungarian nation to the biblical David, which stands alone in its opposition to the “woke globalist Goliath”—called on Americans to join them in their noble struggle.
