Nordic nations stand “in solidarity” with Denmark and Greenland amid Donald Trump’s statements regarding control of the autonomous Danish territory, Norwegian prime minister Jonas Gahr Store said on Monday, May 26th, at the meeting of the Nordic heads of government in Turku, Findland.
“You can be fully certain that we stand by you and by Denmark in solidarity,” Store said, addressing Greenland’s prime minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen. “The Arctic is a regulated area. The Law of the Sea applies, the responsibility of coastal states applies, and we will stand by any community that is feeling pressure on those values,” he said.
