German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized his continued support for Israel in the wake of the new front of the war in the Middle East. In an interview during the G7 summit, the Chancellor said:
“This is the dirty work Israel is doing for all of us. We are also victims of this regime. This mullah regime has brought death and destruction to the world.”
Merz referred to the airstrikes Israel is carrying out in Irani territory against underground bunkers, allegedly used to build nuclear weapons for Teheran.
