A beach south of the port of Dieppe, Normandy is now in use by human traffickers aiming to evade the French authorities.

A new, lawbreaking initiative from people smugglers means that migrant small boats now start operating at even greater distances from their target destination in England.

Tuesday, May 26th saw a migrant dinghy leaving a beach south of the port of Dieppe in Normandy, with a lifeboat later scrambled from Dieppe to escort it into the English Channel. The launch site is approximately 100 miles (161 km) south of the Dunkirk beaches more regularly used by people smugglers.

GB News first learned of what a senior maritime security source called a

shocking illustration of the desperate lengths the criminal gangs will go to in order to avoid enhanced police patrols further north.

The criminal move south, which will further test the seaworthiness and durability of the vessels involved, complements the new trend of launching so-called small boats from Belgium to evade law enforcement. If ‘successful,’ the first boat from the Dieppe area will also add to the 1,200 confirmed arrivals to have taken place during the unseasonably hot long weekend in May.
