The French PM said he would issue a decree in the evening on Sunday authorising the appropriate isolation measures to be put in place to protect the public.

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said on X one of the five French people flown back to France on Sunday from the MV Hondius cruise ship is showing symptoms of the illness.

“One of them showed symptoms in the repatriation plane,” Lecornu said. “These five passengers have immediately been placed in strict isolation until further notice. They are getting medical treatment and will have tests and a medical check-up.”

Lecornu also said he would issue a decree later in the evening authorising the appropriate isolation measures to be put in place to protect the public.

AFP saw a jet carrying the five evacuated cruise ship passengers land a little before 4:30 pm today at Le Bourget airport. Shortly afterwards, they were transferred to a convoy of five ambulances and taken under police escort to the Bichat hospital in Paris.
