U.S. president Donald Trump has announced fresh talks with Cuba—amid rising tensions and after months of U.S. fuel blockade following the U.S. capture of Havana’s ally Nicolas Maduro.
In a Truth Social post, he called Cuba a “failed country.” Without providing details, he asserted
Cuba is asking for help, and we are going to talk!!!
Earlier this month, Trump said the United States would be “taking over” the Caribbean island almost immediately.
